Built in 1875,
The Overton House aka the Villa Rosa located in Oak Bluffs was a summer haven
for many famous African Americans such as Martin Luther King Jr., Jesse
Jackson, J. Philip Randolph and Joe Lewis. Thanks
to its new owner, the house now painted yellow, is still majestic and breathtaking.
Visit or rent the
Villa Rosa when on Martha’s Vineyard and see a bit of African American History.
